On your arrival at the Port of Nice, an agent will accompany you to your berth before you register at the Port Office. The staff here at the Port of Nice are on hand to help you in any way we can, and offer assistance with mooring your boat. During your stay you will have access to a range of services: electric bike hire, power sockets, trolleys for your heavy items, parcel collection, weather forecasts, free Wi-Fi, book sharing, launderette, free lavatories and showers, and more.
The Port of Nice has various measuring devices: two noise level sensors positioned on Quai du Commerce and Esplanade de la Douane, and a cabin for measuring air quality, positioned on Quai du Commerce. Installed by ATMOSUD, a Government-approved regional operator specialised in air quality monitoring, the cabin measures a range of parameters including sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide compounds, fine particles and ozone, so we can identify the impacts of port activities on the environment.
Water analyses are carried out six times a year by an accredited laboratory at several different locations in the Port of Nice, including the outlet of the boatyard area settling tank, the rainwater runoff outlet and the fuel station.
Since 2020, work carried out jointly with Nice City Council and the Métropole aims to identify the sources of pollution that are discharged in the port.
At the Port of Nice, particular attention is paid to waste management and environmental protection. There are several collection points for waste sorting. Two waste disposal points for hazardous waste are available free of charge. Located on Quai Entrecasteaux and Quai Lunel, they provide a way of collecting waste generated by maintenance and repair work carried out on vessels: bilge water, used engine oil, contaminated materials, etc.
Waste sorting, using biodegradable, eco-designed products whenever possible, keeping your power consumption to a minimum… These are just a few essential day-to-day habits that help protect the environment. Every year, staff from the Port of Nice support the Pavillon Vert operation and talk to you about good habits to get into to protect the port environment, and how to put them into practice. Throughout the season, gift pouches containing biodegradable products with “Ecolabel” certification are handed out for your personal use.
The Port of Nice has three large isolation dams that can be used to defend the water body against pollution by closing off different areas of the port or encircling a vessel. To guarantee quick, efficient deployment of the dams, staff from the Port of Nice, Harbour staff, firefighters, the management service, security officers and members of the cleaning staff have been made aware of and are trained in the use of anti-pollution equipment. Drills are carried out on a regular basis with the port staff.
At the Port of Nice, we have made every effort to ensure your safety thanks to access controls covering the entire Port, a Security Control Centre, more than 120 cameras across the Port, security staff working 24/7 and a security manager who keeps watch over the CCTV images at all times.
