Get around the port in a fully eco-friendly boat

2 September 2021

This service provided by the “Lou Passagin” shuttle boat, available throughout the summer season, connects the two banks of the Port of Nice. Residents of Nice, the Côte d’Azur, and tourists alike can relive tradition by boarding a pointu-style electric-powered boat to make the crossing between the Charles Félix dock and the Entrecasteaux quay at the Port of Nice.

The Alpes-Maritimes Department is once again providing the service every day for four months, from 10am to 7pm, until the end of September. Residents of Nice, the Côte d’Azur, and tourists alike can relive tradition by boarding a pointu-style electric-powered boat to make the crossing between the Charles Félix dock and the Entrecasteaux quay at the Port of Nice.

A boat in accordance with sustainable development

This famous, seven-metre traditional boat, manufactured by E.E.M.C.A., is equipped with two submerged electric motors, produced locally in Nice. This is a groundbreaking technological innovation that ticks all the boxes when it comes to sustainable development. The Ratapignata, its real name, is also fitted with solar panels and can be recharged at the quayside. It does not pollute and is completely silent. This aspect is particularly appreciated by residents and passengers.

Health measures must be respected on board. This means that a maximum of four people will be transported per crossing (in addition to the captain).
